Phuket Trip (Day 1)

July, 2010 (overdue blog)

I booked my tickets for this trip via AirAsia's zero fare promo last year.

That's means I need to drive from Manila to Clark airport (DMIA) going to Kuala Lumpur.

Then from Kuala Lumpur going to Phuket. While waiting for the flight going to Phuket, I had my late lunch in one of the fastfoods in KLCC (KL Low Cost Carrier) Airport. I forgot the name of fastfood but I didn't enjoy the chicken and rice meal that I had. I should have just settled for a safer resto like mcdonalds.

We arrived in Phuket International Aiport around 11PM already. Passing through the immigration, I bought my ticket for the van going to Patong. The van was located just few steps from the exit of the airport. Before entering the van, I informed the driver to drop me to Jang Resort where I already pre-booked my accommodation but I was not really sure if he understood me. The van was full of other tourists then in the middle of our trip, we stopped in a stall which was actually a travel agency. The lady from the agency offered us accommodation which I'm pretty sure they have commissions but I don't think anyone actually booked that time. Then she asked each of us our destination and translated it to Thai for the driver.

And so I arrived to Jang Resort which is quite a decent (at least in the resort itself) place: clean, spacious room.

My dinner for the night, authentic seafood khao pad from one of the street food stalls:

Then checked the surrounding shops along the main beach road in Patong.

Next day: Maya Bay Camping

Tempted to Book a Vacation

I was checking my mileage programs and found out that I have miles to expire at the end of this month. I have the option to use them for a RT ticket to Hong Kong but then I need to look for my accommodations.

Then in my another mileage program, I have 4 nights accommodation in Bangkok but I don't have the tickets.

So while contemplating in booking a vacation in Hong Kong or Bangkok, there's the Seair Batanes promo at 50% off.

I would love going to Batanes this New Year. hmm...need to decide before midnight.
